This award recognizes a corporate executive in the Greater Rochester Area who has demonstrated his/her understanding and regard for the practice of public relations.

This award is for public relations professionals with no more than seven years experience in the field. The award has been established to recognize a public relations professional who demonstrates exceptional competence, skill, and leadership potential.

2009 Sharleen M. Bruse Award Form

This award is rewarded to a PRSA member with more than 10 years of experience who epitomizes the integrity and professionalism of a public relations practitioner. Recipients are also very involved in community service and routinely help advance the career development of other chapter members.

2009 Colleagues’ Choice AWARD

Plan to enter your latest work in the Colleagues’ Choice Award competition. You have nothing to lose—there’s no entry fee—and your peers complete all judging during the cocktail hour of the awards event. The Colleagues’ Choice Award Submission deadline is Friday, June 5, 2009. Mail to Michelle Cometa. See address below.

Everything you need to prepare a winning PRism entry can now be found online. Check your inbox and this page regularly for nomination forms and updated event information.

As an Anvil Awards Program, Rochester’s PRism Awards recognize complete public relations programs and tactical elements incorporating sound research, planning, execution, and evaluation. They must meet the highest standards of performance in public relations to be considered for a PRism Award.

For tips and techniques on how to prepare a winning entry, go to www.silveranvil.org to search for examples of past PRSA Silver Anvil winners.

Competition Guidelines

ELIGIBILITY

All work must have been produced between January 1, 2008 and March 30, 2009

Entry Deadline

All entries must be received by 2 p.m. on March 27, 2009. Any entries delivered after 2 p.m. will incur a late fee of $25. Any entries arriving after 5 p.m. on March 27, 2009, will not be considered.

The Judges

An impartial panel of senior-level professionals from the PRSA chapter in Maryland will serve as judges. Only one PRism and one Award of Excellence will be given in each category, based on the rules of the National Anvil Awards. No awards will be given in categories where judges determine that the entries do not merit them.

Best of Prism

Only winning entries in the program categories will be considered for the Best of Prism Award. One corporate and one not-for-profit entry will receive this honor. The Best of Prism will be presented by PR Newswire.
