TO SHOWCASE WORK AT THE 15 th ANNUAL PRism AWARDS

Call for Entries deadline is April 14

ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 7, 2005 – The Rochester Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) invites all area public relations and marketing communications professionals to submit entries for the Annual PRism awards competition. Designated an Anvil Awards Program by the PRSA national organization, the PRism Awards recognize excellence in Rochester-area public relations and communications. PRisms will be awarded in two categories — Program Awards and Element Awards.

Entries for the PRism awards will be accepted until 2 p.m., April 14. To enter a PRism submission, the work must have been produced between January 1, 2004 and April 14, 2005. At this year’s event, PRSA will award the CEO of the Year and the Rising Star awards. The CEO award recognizes a local CEO who displays excellent appreciation for the PR function. The Rising Star award recognizes a local, talented, younger person in the PR trade.

Entries for the Colleagues’ Choice award, which will be judged by attendees on-site the night of the ceremony, must be submitted by June 3.

This year, only winning entries in the program categories will be considered for the Best of PRism Award. One corporate and one not-for-profit entry will receive this highest distinction. Winners will be announced on June16 at the Lodge at Woodcliff, 199 Woodcliff Drive. The host for this years’ event will be WBEE personality Steve Hausmann. Hausmann has been a staple in the Rochester community for over ten years. He provides news and information each morning with “The Bee Morning Coffee Club.” There will also be a performance by the improv group Nuts and Bolts. They have been performing since 1999, and in late 2003 they joined the Downstairs Cabaret Theater where they perform shows monthly.
