Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking candidates for the position of editor of RIT: The University Magazine.  The award-winning magazine is the university’s primary print publication for alumni and friends of RIT.  The magazine is published three times per year, with a circulation of 110,000 copies per edition.  The magazine also has an online presence.     

Potential candidates must be able to successfully demonstrate the ability to skillfully edit and manage deadline driven projects.  The magazine editor is responsible for the following:

• Generating story ideas for content.
• Developing story ideas, conducting interviews, researching and writing stories for publication.
• Assigning and editing stories to a team of writers.
• Assigning and selecting photos.
• Consulting with magazine designer regarding layout, art ideas and production.
• Managing editorial deadlines.
• Collaborating with the magazine editorial committee.
• Overseeing a complementary alumni news Web site.
• Networking with Alumni.
• Copy editing and writing for University News Services.
