Dr. Jonathan Slater, associate professor, Communications, SUNY Plattsburgh

Jonathan Slater's career at SUNY Plattsburgh began when he was invited onto the team of specialists at the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) at the School of Business and Economics in 1992. He managed several federal- and state-funded projects in international business training, regional market planning, and local economic development. Before joining Plattsburgh State's Communication faculty in 1997, Dr. Slater served as an interim member of the executive staff at a local public television station. Dr. Slater began his career as a public relations writer and went on to head a firm that counseled top marketers and advertising agencies on their cross-border message strategies. Later, several private and not-for-profit organizations enlisted Dr. Slater's help in developing their corporate and promotional communication programs.
