Aimee J. Lewis has focused her career on public relations in higher education, including Web communications, media relations and publications management for four colleges and universities. She is currently the communications and Web manager for the Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester, where she oversees all external communications.
Lewis has managed nearly 100 Web projects, working with internal clients and outside vendors. She oversees market research, content development, creative direction, site architecture and project implementation.
Prior to the University of Rochester, Lewis managed communications projects for Oak Ridge Associated Universities/Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, a government contractor and college consortium. In addition to managing external Web projects for government clients and corporate initiatives, she assisted with crisis communications, working with the U.S. Department of Energy.
Lewis has also managed media relations, print and Web projects for the University of Tennessee and Dickinson College. Her diverse experience has given her an understanding of the multiple roles public relations professionals must fulfill today and how that role is ever changing.
She serves on the Board of the Public Relations Society of America, Rochester (NY) Chapter where she holds the office of secretary and manages the chapter’s electronic communications. She has won several awards for her communications projects and has served as a national judge for the CASE Awards Web category and PRSA Bronze Anvil Awards for media relations.
