Michael V. Ginestre is a professor in the communications/journalism department at St. John Fisher College. Ginestre is responsible for planning, creating, and teaching public relations courses at the school. He also serves as the faculty advisor for the Public Relations Club at Fisher. Prior to this appointment, Ginestre served as an adjunct professor at the school for five years.
While working as an adjunct professor at St. John Fisher, Ginestre spent three years of his career at Buck & Pulleyn in Rochester, N. Y. as an account executive, senior account executive and account supervisor in the agency’s public relations department. He created and managed award-winning public relations campaigns for such clients as Eastman Kodak’s Document Imaging Division, and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. In 2001, Ginestre’s campaign that launched the Krispy Kreme phenomena in Rochester won Best of Show at the local PRISM Award’s ceremony and was named a finalist for the national Silver Anvil Award in Public Relations.
While at Buck & Pulleyn, Ginestre served as a liaison between the agency and its affiliation with the Worldcom Public Relations Group. He has traveled to such places as Paris, Buenos Aires, and Tokyo to perform public relations programs for clients and partners on behalf of the group. He co-authored the Worldcom Public Relation’s Group Relationship Branding ä process and presented his work to the membership at its 2001 Conference in Tokyo. In 2002, Ginestre was an integral part of the public relations team at Buck & Pulleyn that was named Boutique Agency of the Year by PRWeek.
Prior to joining Buck & Pulleyn and St. John Fisher College, Ginestre spent two years at C.H.E.N. High Tech Public Relations in Boston, M.A. There, he worked on such accounts as Electronic Arts, and Giganet Technologies. Before moving to Boston, Ginestre worked as a junior account executive and account executive in the public relations department at Hutchins/Young & Rubicam.
Ginestre received his bachelor’s degree from St. John Fisher College and a master’s degree from Niagara University. He currently lives in Rochester. |
