  Accreditation

Accredited in Public Relations (APR) is a mark of distinction for public relations professionals who demonstrate their commitment to the profession and to its ethical practice, and who are selected based on broad knowledge, strategic perspective, and sound professional judgment.

Accreditation is a voluntary certification program for public relations professionals, administered by the Public Relations Society of America. It aims to unify and advance the profession by identifying those who have demonstrated broad knowledge, experience and professional judgment in the field. The program seeks to improve public relations practice. APR designation signifies a high level of professional experience and competence.

PRSA recently began a new accreditation process, including a new exam. You can sign up locally to take the exam anytime, or participate in review sessions. Contact accreditation chair, Duane Pancoast at (585) 924-4570 for more information.

To learn more about APR accreditation, including how to prepare for the exam and how to maintain your accreditation, visit the PRSA Universal Accreditation Board Web site.
